Beauty Find of the Week: Hot Sock Hair Diffuser

Beauty find of the week time! Here's a beauty cheap treat that I LOVE, and I think you will too:

Random fact: the crown of my hair is naturally wavy. Sometimes, especially when I'm at the beach, it's easier to let the natural waves out than fool with curling irons and such. And when I travel, I don't always want to lug the 'ol diffuser around. For years I used a cotton sock and a hair elastic, but I wanted something that worked better.

This week's beauty find is the perfect travel diffuser and takes up no room in the suitcase.

I've got 2 options:

Hot Sock Hair Diffuser--Find this online and Urban Outfitters--$6

Plimatic Mitt Diffuser by Conair--This is pictured in the bottom right-hand corner. I like this one because it has a tight elastic fit. Find online and at Sally Beauty--$4.29 ($3.99 if you're a beauty club member)

Simply slide it on the nozzle of the hair dryer (pictured above) and use. And yes, it works on all of my hair, so if you have curly/wavy/permed hair, you might want to check this one out!

Or keep it in mind as a stocking stuffer for later.

What's your latest beauty find?

Extra Elle:
  • Got my hair done last week--the BEST! My hairstylist is going on maternity leave, so it was last time with her for a while.
  • I've had the past week off (I was in Charleston) so it's back to work I go today. Can't wait to see the kids and hear about their trip!
  • Thanks to everyone who's been watching my Instagram stories--I am loving the interaction!

  1. I finally just got the Instagram Stories or the email and then I noticed it on my IG last night. Wow, I feel a little overwhelmed with that and SnapChat now! Eek! I have curly hair and had no idea there were sock diffusers!! Interesting!! These would def. be easier to travel with.

  9. I love using a diffuser when I wear my hair wavy. This is a great alternative to my bulk plastic diffuser.

  10. That's so cool, and even better that it takes up so little space in your suitcase! My hair just has a slight wave to it, so I never really used a diffuser very much.

  19. First time hearing about this! The crown of my head happens to be may more thick than the rest of my hair which means blow drying is a pain....I need to try this hot sock!

  20. I totally didn't know they made these, or that you can use a sock as a diffuser! I was literally just thinking last night that I wish I had a diffuse, now I know I can make or get a cheap alternative!
