Beauty DIY: Pumpkin Pie Body Scrub

How was your Halloween? Keeping with my annual tradition, I adorned my place with pumpkin paraphenalia, bought enough candy for every child in Atlanta, and had zero Trick or Treaters knock at my door. At least Charlie looked cute! I was gonna watch a scary movie and eat candy, but chickened out (typical me) and used up the last of this Pumpkin Pie Body Scrub. Here's how:

So last month, I showed you how to make a Pumpkin Facial Mask, and I asked you to keep the extra pumpkin & freeze it. If you did that, go ahead and let it defrost and then strain the excess water before beginning!

I N G R E D I E N T S
1 c sugar
1/2 c pumpkin puree (I used canned, but freshly pureed sugar/baking pumpkins works too)
1/4 c sweet almond oil (or vitamin e oil)
1 tsp nutmeg

M E T H O D
Mix ingredients and carefully pour into a resealable container. This should keep for around a week.

N O T E S

  • Pumpkins are a great source of vitamins A, C, and zinc. They're great for those with acne or oily skin.
  • Sugar acts as an exfoliant.
  • Sweet almond oil softens the skin and adds moisture.
  • Nutmeg smooths skin and treats it. It also gives this recipe that pumpkin "pie" smell.
  • I do not use cinnamon, as it can burn and exacerbate skin.

  1. Hey Elle!!!!

Long time!! I saw your comment about Will's homecoming and thank you for your sweet sentiments. I have been looking at all of your posts and of course they are great. I am using a great product right now called Loreal magic perfecting base it's awesome! It's so different from anything I've used and it makes my skin so silky and smooth.

I love this scrub. I'm going to do it with my daughters. Take great care and it's good to hear from you...

I only had 8 trick or treaters last night- what a bust! Now I have 10 lbs. of leftover candy... This could get ugly.

  10. This looks so super easy! I think I even have all the ingredients....

Our trick or treating got moved to this weekend for superstorm fears. Looks like we'll be okay in our neck of the woods after all, but I'm glad they were cautious.

  15. We finally wisened up and only buy a little bit of candy since we never get any trick or treaters. Last year in France, we had 3 teenagers (late teens) ring our gate at 10pm in regular clothes and ask for candy, actually not ask, just said 'bon bons'.
