HELLO! Let's Catch Up!

If you're reading this, thank you. It means you're still here! And I am very thankful for that. Thank you.

Hey y'all. It's your friendly neighborhood beauty blogger, Elle. Remember me?

Since it's been a minute since my last post, I thought it was time to get caught up.

First of all, THANK YOU for the overwhelming response to my post last week. It's been hard, but I'm feeling better and more like myself each day.

I've got dozens of blog posts just itching to be finished to put on here. I've missed this place.

I started a new job! I love it and am very happy!

However, the hours are different from my last job, so I will not be able to visit blogs until night. It will be a balancing act, but I will figure it out!

I unfortunately am dealing with some sort of stomach virus. I'm feeling better though!

Last weekend I got to visit my family in my hometown--the last time was May I think? We celebrated my nephew's 8th birthday! It was VERY hot, but so wonderful to see my nieces and nephews.

Speaking of birthdays, congrats to my cousin who had her first baby last night!!!!

I haven't been watching much tv lately, other than a few eps of Ozark (filmed in GA!!) and definitely Game of Thrones. The whole fantasy genre doesn't interest me, so I'm surprised at what a fan I am of this show. Finale this weekend!

Blogging at night has been nearly impossible. I can't tell you how many times I've tried but my restless legs won't let me do anything. I do take a homeopathic treatment at night and it works fine. It's only when I'm sitting down at night that it starts.

Whew! I think we're caught up! Tell me, what's new with you??

  6. Congrats on the new job!!I hope you're able to find a good work/life/blog schedule. I typically only have the nights to blog and it's tough after a long day of work. Hope you feel better from the stomach bug soon. Those are NEVER fun!

  19. I'm so glad to hear you like your new job, Elle! I get restless legs too at night. I haven't found anything to help other then putting a heating pad on mine, because mine hurt too when they are restless. I'd love to hear if you find anything to work to help with them!
Happy birthday to your nephew, and congrats to your cousin with the new baby! I hope your stomach virus goes away, and I cannot wait for the finale of game of thrones!

  20. I’m happy to hear you are doing well, life is hard, you are not alone in this. Sometimes you have to take a little time off your blog and to yourself to just regroup. Stomach viruses are no fun, I tend to get them often because of my food restrictions. Blogging anytime o the day is hard for me lol.

  26. I did think of you, Elle, sending you good vibes, but I knew you needed time to yourself. I am glad you managed to visit your family, celebrated birthdays, now your cousin had a baby and you got a new job! Congratulations! So much going on, that's nice! You know, blogging is great, the web of support we get is lovely - but don't worry about visiting blogs when you are tired. Maybe on Saturdays? I don't know, but I am sure you will find a balance!

  32. glad your new job is going well! sucks about the hours change though. hope you find a new balance soon. i have really bad restless legs when i go to bed, but not until then. have you tried magnesium? i don't know if it would help with your general night time restless legs, but it definitely helps me toss and turn in bed less. glad you're feeling better, being sick is the worst!

  35. This is my first time on your blog. I read your depression post. I know you have been told before but I want to tell you again that you are not alone. You might feel alone but you are not, and you are strong enough to get through it.
I'll come back to check up on you here :-)

  36. Congratulations on your new job, Elle! Take care of yourself and don't worry too much about blogging/reading other blogs, etc. Get your footing and take your time. Your true blog friends and readers will stick with you! I quit blogging nearly 2 years ago and I'm still friends with more than 30 awesome ladies as a result of blogging. I know a bigger blogger like you who's been working harder, longer and with more gusto probably thinks 30 is incredibly small, but it's honestly been amazing and I've found other hobbies that make me happy and still got to hold onto relationships with people I love online. I know you're not going to roll up the shingle and stop blogging, and I'm certainly not advocating that, I only want you to know you don't have to burn the candle at both ends all the time. I've never even met you in person but I know you're a workhorse, a perfectionist, and someone very invested in blogging and blogging etiquette. You are DA BOMB! And people will forgive you if you miss a few blog posts while you're getting well from being sick (so sorry to hear that!) and getting settled in to a new job. May the kindness you've put into the world will be returned to you! <3 Good luck with your new job and happy Friday eve!

  38. Glad to see a post from you Elle! I hope you're feeling better! I was on bed rest due to a pulled muscle in my back last weekend, so I'm catching up on blogs as well! I'm to hear you're feeling more like yourself each day! Congrats on the new job!

  41. I'm so glad you're happy at your new job! It looks like a dream. :) I didn't watch much tv at all this summer, but Ozark is on my list. I'm not into fantasy either, but there's got to be something about Game of Throne because everyone loves it. My sister has been trying to convince me to give it a shot lately. She said it's like a soap opera. Haha!
