Hit or Miss? NEW Beauty Reviews: Drugstore and Sephora

So this past week I did something I've never done before on the blog: I took a break.

In case you somehow missed me blowing up your Snapchat or Instagram (ellesees on both), I was at Walt Disney World! Normally when I'm on vacation, I leave the blog stocked with videos and posts, but not the time. I was too sick the week before to do so. It left me so much anxiety, and I missed being here. I hope you missed it, too!

And I'm back with lots of reviews for you!

Covergirl Oh Sugar!--This tinted lip balm is moisturizing, a nice tint, and a great scent. I wouldn't purchase it again, but I was pleasantly surprised by this!

Clinique Sweet Pots--(Sephora)--One side is a lip scrub, one side is a lip tint, put them together and you have an adorable macaron-esque product. However, looks are deceiving here as I wasn't that impressed with either product. You can make you own MUCH better versions from this post. Cute, but skip it.

MAC Retro Lip Mattes (MAC)--Y'all know I love a matte liquid lipstick (try reviews here and here) so I had to get these. I really liked them. I'm wearing the pink one in the video at the end of this post.

Defy & Inspire Polish--This is Target's own new brand of polish. Full of cute colors and names, the 5-free polish is okay. They don't last that long, but are fun to try. I'm wearing it in the video at the end!

Maybelline Masterprime--Part of my haul here, I loved these. Great eye shadow primers that really lasted and didn't crease.

Covergirl TruNaked Goldens--I didn't think these were anything special and wouldn't repurchase.

Wet N Wild UltimateBrow--This brow mascara has a large wand and is messy. I wouldn't repurchase.

Glam Glow Lip Plumper--(Sephora)--Expect a bigger review on this soon, but essentially this didn't plump my lips at all.

Tatcha Luminous Dewy Skin Mist--(Sephora)--A lovely makeup refresher, but it wasn't that big of a difference. I'd skip it. It does feel nice, smell great, and uses fabulous ingredients.

Pantene Air Spray--Alcohol-free hairspray! Finally frizzy hair (like mine) can use hairspray! I really liked this.

L'Oreal Root Coverup--Of all of the methods to hide my grey roots temporarily, this is my fave new product. It works and I LOVE IT.

L'Oreal Sublime Bronze Wash-Off Body Makeup Lotion--Just apply and have streak-free color, until your next shower. I really loved this. Very subtle but not (on me) orange. Check it out below:

And finally some Valentine's treats I got from Pixi by Petra. You can get this brand at Target.
Lipstick--Every time I wear any of these, I get asked what am I wearing. Gorgeous, glossy lipsticks.

Lip Contour Liner--Because sometimes lipstick just loves to bleed outside the lips.

Glowtion Day Dew--This is a pinkish brightening lotion that gives skin a glow.

And now for the video, where I go into more details on these products:

Extra Elle:
  • Did you miss this post on $500 shopping spree? Go enter already! ;)
  • Home two days and then back on the road--this time for my niece Emmalyn's 1st birthday! I'm so excited for her princess party!
  • In case you skipped the top, I spent 5 days at Walt Disney World. I had a wonderful time, but the weather was really chilly and windy! But the crowds were light!

  25. I noticed your absence this week, but I also saw some IG photos of Disney world, so I figured you were having fun and taking a blog break. :) That Clinique Sweet Pots sounds interesting, but I think I'll pass on it after your review. I LOVE all Pixi products I've tried, the Glowtion Day Dew sounds great!

Does the Bronze Wash-Off Body Makeup Lotion come off on linens or clothes?

  42. I really need to try that hairspray! When my hairstylist cut and styled my hair, she used a hairspray like a flat iron spray. This sounds perfect for that! I have never found a lip plumper that actually works, either.

  43. Great reviews! I am going to target this week and will pick some of these up. Glad you had a great trip!

  44. Hope you had fun in Disney World and glad to see you're doing better! Great round up!!

  45. The L'Oreal bronzer seems incredible and so natural looking. It's also good to know you'd recommend skipping on the Tatcha mist. Although I haven't tried it, I still don't get the hype and people trying to justify its price tag. x
