Holiday Sets For the Beauty-Obsessed

If your loved ones know you love or dabble in all things beauty, so it's a given you'll receive a holiday beauty set at least once for Christmas. She likes makeup stuff? Easy! No-brainer! Let me grab this set!

And while it's so sweet of them and the thought that counts, I can practically guarantee you'll receive at least one bubble bath set (you don't even have a tub) or one of those 150 Shadows kits in your lifetime. Or maybe you'll get something in pretty packaging, but it's full of a few duds (neon pink eyeliner??) or poor-quality products. I've seen it at all price ranges. These end up being chucked in the bin or given away.

Let's stop that today with a few beauty holiday sets you might not have tried or seen before. I wanted to share a few items I got to try that aren't being covered on every single beauty gift guide.

These have all been tested thoroughly by me and I hope you love them as much as I do.

Buxom Leave Your Mark Full-On Lip Polish & Lip Cream Set--Limited Edition
  • A 15-piece collection of mini Full-On® Lip Polishes and Lip Creams in nudes, pinks, reds, and plums.
  • $59 ($135 value)
  • Sephora
  • Best for:
    • lip gloss fanatics
    • teens
    • secret santa
    • stocking stuffer
FYI: I'm wearing the bottom right pink shade in this post from yesterday.

Buxom makes my favorite formula of lip glosses. I always love their limited edition sets with the cute packaging.
  • My idea is to break up the set and give them out to your girl friends--like attaching them to a gift, as a stocking stuffer, or part of gift basket. These are ALWAYS a hit.

Buxom Don't Miss A beat Full-On Lip Polish Collection--Limited Edition
  • A six-piece set with mini Full-On® Lip Polishes in sheer, shimmering shades from nude to bold
  • $32 ($57 value)
  • Sephora
  • Best for:
    • beauty fanatics
    • teens
    • secret santa
    • stocking stuffer

So 15 shades is too many? How about this smaller version of 6? I love the Boom Box packaging (who remembers boom boxes?). The shades are very wearable, too.
  • Just as suggested above, I like giving these out individually too. Add a gift card or another beauty item to a gloss and you've got a cute gift.
FYI: Only 2 shades in this set can be found in the first set, in case you wanted both. ;)

Buxom Look All You Want Set--Limited edition
  • An alluring eye set with six eye shadows, a waterproof eyeliner, and a mini mascara
  • $29
  • Sephora
  • Best for:
    • makeup fanatics
    • girl on the go
    • new to makeup

I was sent only a shadow palette in this packaging, but I thought you would love seeing the entire kit. This is the best deal for the quality of products you get. I've shared my love for the shadows here.

Dolce&Gabbana The Essence of the Holiday Collection
  • $27-$59.50
  • Macys
  • Best for:
    • the beauty girl who has everything
    • for holiday parties
    • those who love luxurious beauty

Here are the other offerings from the collection. I have the Glow, which has a gorgeous light golden nude followed with a golden creamy highlight and a gold creamy shadow.

How pretty would these be for a holiday party? Or for NYE?

Nudestix #toocute Lip/Cheek Pencils
  • holiday minis of all time faves, Mystic and Sin, and introducing the all-new GORGE’ holiday matte red!
  • $24
  • Sephora
  • Best for:
    • girl on the go
    • those into the "no makeup-makeup" look
    • beauty minimalists
    • teens
    • those just getting into makeup or they don't wear makeup often
  • I have shared Nudestix several times before on here, and love the idea of this new set. You can wear them on lips and/or cheeks. Plus there's a sharpener and mirror inside the tin. And the cute tin stores it all.
So those a just a few of the holiday sets I'm loving.
Email me or comment below if you need more suggestions!

Extra Elle:
  • Current food obsession: vegan chicken salad wrap from Whole Foods. You'd never know it wasn't real chicken. SO good.
  • Jam-packed weekend! I hope I get some time to wrap presents. My bedroom looks a little like Santa's Workshop at the moment!

  21. I typically shy away from sets like this as I am (very) picky about what I wear and I know that most of the colors would go to waste. I do want a new Too Faced palette, though. The County one. The colors are awesome!

  33. I am in love with these Buxom sets! True, I received many bath salts before I had a bathtub and thought "and now?" When I got to have "the" bathtub, it was too late to use them - passed to someone who had one. I loved the lip set, with 15 colors! I would love to have it!

  37. Christmas and beauty for me have always been disastrous. I seem to attract those dud kits. ALWAYS. If it's not bath bombs then it's those annoying eyeshadow kits with over a million different shades of pink. I don't know who thinks that's a good idea!
