August Beauty Faves Plus Ipsy

Hey you! How was your weekend? Mine was full of ups and downs! I cannot believe this is the last day of August. Craziness. But I want to talk about something else for a bit before getting into my monthly faves. I started my Coffee & Chit Chat series in January of 2014, to share more of my life, to show there's actually someone behind the words you read, behind the pics you see. While I absolutely adored making those videos, it turned out you didn't, and so this is my last one. Thank you everyone who tuned in and commented.

So now I will turn these videos into a monthly favorites! Check it out below:

And here are a few beauty faves I've enjoyed this past month:

August Ipsy Bag: This month's theme was Prep School and I loved everything I got! It's $10 a month and you can use my code here.
  • Trust Fund Polish
  • Marc Anthony Argan Oil
  • Hikari Lip Gloss--This is what I was wearing in this Insta pic.
  • Marsk Brush
  • Doucce eyeliner

PCA Skin CliniCalm 1%--I get messages and emails weekly about irritated skin and this is the cream I recommend. This is wonderful for psoriasis, eczema, poison oak/ivy/sumac, rashes, etc. http://www.pcaskin.com/clinicalmtm-1-3.html

My next fave is this Glow Tonic Exfoliating Toner I received from Pixi. It has 5% glycolic acid but didn't irritate my skin, it just made it feel amazing. Get it at Target.

It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty Romantic Palette--This is the followup I was sent to the original It Cosmetics Naturally Pretty palette (I recently gave one away) and I'm wearing it in the video above. It has 14 brand-new matte shades and a transforming pearl shade. Get it here.

Frank Body--This Australian crurelty-free brand has been featured on the blog before for their famous coffee body scrub. They've recently released a line of skin care, including a moisturizer (very light), a creamy face cleanser, a creamy face scrub (smells like coffee!), and a fabulous body balm.

How was your August?

Extra Elle:
  • I was on my way to attend a blogger brunch Saturday when I had a car issue so I ended up not going. Turns out it was actually on SUNDAY.
  • I got lots accomplished over the weekend and managed to squeeze in a Target and Ikea trip!
  • Happy 3rd birthday to my niece Maddy yesterday AND congrats that she's going to be a big sister! Yay for future niece #3!
  • VMA's...I...have...no...words...
Don't forget:

I liked the cup of the coffee, very nice :) I don't drink coffee or anything with it, but I love cups :) I am glad you visited your family and nephews (and the nephew's 6th birthday) and sad about your friend's mom passed away :( August is not particularly depressing for me, but I was more sensitive this (last :) August... maybe it is depressing, indeed!   22. I'm so sad to see your Chit chats go, and I hope this doesn't mean you are doing away with YouTube for good? I know above you said you'll just turn them into monthly favorites instead, but I wasn't sure if that was blog or YouTube based. If you say so in the video, forgive me, I'm at work and haven't watched it yet. (;

A friend of mine had been harping me to try the Pixi glow tonic. I really need to jump aboard this IPSY train. I spend far for than $10 a month on cosmetics, why not? lol

  23. Ooh those all do look like fun goodies in your Ipsy bag! Too bad to hear that you're not doing your chit chat series if you enjoy it! I know that videos seem to be the "way of the future for blogs" but for me I'm just not a video watcher. I much prefer to read. (That goes with everything... I prefer books to TV/movies, etc.) I'm sorry I didn't watch much but I hope that if it's something you enjoy you're able to find a way to do it again.

  26. I loved the houndstooth bag from this month's Ipsy. So jealous you got the nail polish, looks like a gorgeous color! I didn't watch the VMAs from the pictures I've seen....wow.

  28. I was so excited when I heard the Pixi Glow Tonic would be available at Target! I loved getting another side of you and your life in these videos. August makes me sad too but I think it's because I feel like summer is drawing to an end.

  31. This is the first time I saw your chit chat – I loved it!! I’m not a huge fan of August either – I hate when summer ends! Going home must have been the best.

  32. Awe, I am going to miss your coffee chit chat! I am obsessed with those Kate Spade earrings but for whatever reason, big studs drive me crazy so I haven't pulled the trigger. How do they feel? Are they heavy? I love the houndstooth Ipsy bag, so cute!! That IT palette has some really pretty colors and I will have to check out that light moisturizer. I am in need a of a new one, I am not loving the ones I have as much as I was.

  44. I didn't know Pixi had skincare items. I've never really looked at that brand very closely. Lots of great products here. I'm sorry you won't be doing chit chats anymore, but I'm glad you'll still be around doing favorites in your videos.

  45. I love the packaging for Frank Body! I'll definitely have to try that brand sometimes, though if they're not well known, products from other countries tend to be much more expensive in the States.

I haven't seen the VMAs yet! I'll definitely have to watch some recaps.
