NEW Buxom Eyeshadow Bar Review Plus Faves

Y'all, we it to Friday. We're so close to the weekend--I can almost see it, or maybe around 7 tonight when I'm off work. And to celebrate, we need to visit Sephora for some new makeup. Shopping cures all, I'm telling ya. Seriously though, Buxom has some new products, and I was able to try them out. And I am in love--I've shared lots of Buxom makeup here over the years, so I wasn't surprised that I'd love these. Look at these goodies!

First up, we have Buxom Full-On Lip Polish in Dani, Leslie, and Clair. Sparkly Clair is my fave. The glosses are the first items I can remember purchasing from them and their best sellers, $19. They are lightly pigmented, not too sticky, and are tingly. They have over 100 shades, with Dolly being the most-popular one. Also pictured are Buxom True Nude Lip Foundation, creamy long-lasting color that matches your lip tone and hides minor imperfections. You can wear them alone or with gloss. They come in 7 colors, $19.

From left: top lip is Au Naturale, bottom lip is Bare; Leslie; Dani; Clair

And now for the new stuff! I am a palette junkie, but usually end up not using all of the shades. Not anymore! Buxom has a new Eyeshadow Bar. There are over 40 primer-infused, buttery-soft, amazingly pigmented shadows to choose from--think matte, metallic, duo-chrome, and more. Pick 6 to create a custom palette--just slip in and push it closed, as pictured. $14 each.

Not into choosing shadows? No worries--Buxom has pre-built palettes for you, like May Contain Nudity, Dolly's Wild Side, and Pastel Persuasion. $40

Swatches of lip polishes and lip foundations; a quick look of gold lids

All of the products have earned my seal of approval--you can't go wrong with any of these!

Have you tried Buxom before?

Extra Elle:
  • I have these supposed "unbreakable" headphones that I somehow broke. Any suggestions for new ones that aren't ear buds?
  • I have a rule that I can't buy candles unless they're on sale and I have to use up 2-3 before buying 1. I had a bunch that were almost empty, so my house has been smelling like a tropical land. I reuse the containers--they hold my makeup brushes!
  • To thank you for spending a bit of your day with me, I've got a few giveaways for you:

  3. I have never tried Buxom products. I will definitely be on a lookout now. I would love to know your candle favorites. I am such a candle snob, and I just can't seem to find one I love. Have a great weekend Elle!

  7. Those build-your-own Buxom palettes look so nice! I meant to check them out when I was at Ulta yesterday but I COMPLETELY forgot! Maybe for the better...I've already spent enough money on makeup and skincare since I've been home. Have you tried the new Love Flush blushes from Too Faced? I am in love!

I am also a candle junkie! I usually buy them on sale on Yankee Candle and go crazy. I've put myself on a "no candle buy" for a while now because I have so many I have to use first! I also reuse my candle jars, some at drinking glasses (if the shape is right) and some I fill up with homemade body scrubs.

Hope you have a great weekend, Elle! xx

  12. Great review! I wish I was more adventurous when it came to eye shadow. What's a good pallet to start with if I don't want to invest too much but want to play a little and ease into the idea of shadow?

  13. I'm usually the same with palettes, I feel it's such a waste, but now that I have the Naked 3 I have been able to use all shades. Glad you found a palette you like! Happy Friday!

  14. I love that you can pick which colors you want in the palette - I can't remember the last time I got just one eye shadow and not a palette - I love having all the options right there at once.

  15. I love, love, love Buxom products! If you open up the makeup bag in my purse there's easily 3 or 4 Buxom lip plumpers or polishes because they're just absolute perfection. Let me know how the headphone struggle goes, I hate the new earbuds that came with iPhones 5s and older, they really hurt my ears and need to be replaced ASAP. Happy Friday!!

  20. I hate earbuds. I use a terrific pair of headphones which were designed in the 70's and are still popular 'cause they work so well Koss PortaPro; available on Amazon, about $35.

  22. Wow, I never heard of Buxom, but I am hooked from now on! I loved the long-lasting colors for the lips, and much more the eyeshadows, I have to confess, so many, so beautiful! And the best, the fact that they are primer-infused? Never head of it, but since now, I want them!
