Haul: MAC Cinderella Collection

So one day as I was organizing my makeup (What? Am I the only one?) I decided that due to the volume of products, I was on a spending ban. I know. Craziness. I'll film a tour soon of all of it. Everything was going well until I got a press release about the upcoming Disney's Cinderella collection for MAC. I was immediately done for. LOOK!

Isn't it beautiful? (What? Am I the only one?) Yes, I'm still a little girl inside. I loved the movie as a child and even had a Cinderella birthday cake (complete with pumpkin coach, of course). Top it off with the fact that I had just left Cinderella's castle after visiting the Magic Kingdom (my dang shoe fell off there, true story!), and I knew these goodies had to be mine. Here's what I ordered online:

The packaging is a gorgeous periwinkle blue, based on the reinterpretation of her dress. Random fact, but I love the original sparkly color it is in the movie, but Disney in the 90s decided the dress was blue. See?

No! Not another #thedress debate! But based on the pretty packaging and the live action movie promos, I love the blue. The packaging has a pinky-blue-lavendar sheen to it, depending on how you hold it to the light. There are over a dozen items, but I chose the lip glasses (yes, that what MAC calls them for those not familiar with MAC), an eye shadow palette, a mascara (accidentally ordered, but keeping), and a lip stick. Let's check them out up close:

First up is the Stroke of Midnight palette. Minus the darkest shade, these are all permanent shades. That's fine with me because I only had one shade already.

Next is the Cinderella Studio Fix Lash. This was an accidental order and I kept it in my cart because I was worried stuff would disappear when I went to check out--this happened with one of the lipsticks. Everything is sold out and it went quickly. But back to the mascara, I've used it before, with its mousse-like texture that gives lots of volume.

Now we have sparkly things! Look at the Cinderella Tinted Lipglass! And yes, they are blush and bashful totally different colors. On your left is Glass Slipper, a light milky pink with a pink pearl finish. On your right is Happily Ever After, a cool milky pink with a bluish pearl. Both are gorgeous in person and look best over a lipstick, which brings us to the last item:

Finally we have Cinderella lipstick in Royal Ball. There is also a beige nude lipstick in this collection called Free as a Butterfly, but it disappeared from my shopping cart when I went to check out. Royal Ball, however, is described as a fleshy pink. It does wash me out, so I need to wear a lipliner of a different shade to have it appear properly. It is so pretty. I love it.

Overall, I am happy with all of my purchases, and have been wearing them every day since I got them!

While this collection is sold out online, it is officially in stores TODAY, so you have a chance to pick up these items and more. Check out the entire collection here.

What would you choose? Did you purchase any of the Cinderella collection?

  5. Ok is it sad that the thing I love the most about this line is the packaging?? LOL! I haven't seen this in stores yet and I was just in MAC over the weekend! If I see anything I'll have to check it out though!

  7. I really wanted the pink shimmery highlight/blush compact from the Cinderella Collection, but saw it was already sold out online a while ago. I honestly can't believe how fast these things sell! Just yesterday I went on MAC to check out the Bao Bao Wan collection which came out just a few days ago (I think) and almost everything was sold out. I think I've only ever been able to catch a MAC Limited Edition collection once (and that was about 5 years ago), and it drives me crazy! From now on, I think I just need to go on MAC.com every single day. I am determined to pick up something that is limited edition and therefore more special haha

  11. I'm loving all of this Cinderella inspired stuff. It's making me feel like a little kid again. Yesterday I was in Kohls and they have so many pretty little dress up clothes, both for kids and adult women.

  17. I haven't been able to swatch any of these yet and it's killing me. Do I need that lipstick in my life? I love pink shades, but sometimes they are too light and I look down right creepy. That palette though looks like an awesome purchase. I so want to see a Cinderella tutorial from you. (;

  22. I have to disagree on the packaging, I find it to be boring and bland and wish Mac would have put more though into it. It just look cheap and tacky to me. The products are no doubt amazing, the eyeshadow palette has really lovely neutral shades and the lipstick looks really good too but the packaging puts me off. :-/

The MAC Cinderella collection is gorgeous. I don't think I have a need for it, but I like looking at it a lot.

  42. I was a complete failure at trying to get some of these items. I tried online and in store, BUT I did get the eye palette and it is gorgeous. I'm ok with it featuring permanent colors and only one LE because I didn't have all of the colors. The packaging is to die for and might be the actual reason I wanted the products, ha!

  43. These just sound so pretty and fun! I love the packaging too. Cinderella was a favorite of mine when I was little, and my mom said when we saw the movie for the first time (in the theater), when Cinderella left her shoe, I said "That's the trouble with slipons!" So every time I think of Cinderella that's what I think of :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. how pretty are those lip colors?! I love the lipstick. But I have to ask...what is a permanent shade when talking about the eye shadow?

    ReplyDelete
  45. I tried to leave a comment yesterday but my computer was acting a fool! I am in LOVE with this collection! I love Cinderella in general and these shades are just beautiful!!! That last lip color?!?! OMG!!! And that palette!!!! I am about out of my usual purple shade that I wear all the time. It is a Lancome shade that is a lavendery- silver-ish shade. Would this palette be a good replacement? I have brown hair and blue eyes like you. What is your favorite purple shade?

  46. awww man, i don't buy MAC stuff and i pretty much can't afford to, but I so want this stuff! it's all so pretty! i laughed so hard during this post - i love the 'not another dress debate' and yes i totally agree the movie dress is prettier than the blue but i do love the blue in the new movie and i so want to see the new movie (richard madden, swoon) and i just love that your shoe fell off in magic kingdom ;)

  47. I literally cannot wait to get my hands on this collection, especially when it launches in Debenhams :) The packaging actually looks gorgeous :) I adore the look of the eyeshadow palette and Royal Ball lipstick - I was a little worried about it washing me out also but I’ll be buying more for just the packaging hehe.

  51. Such a pretty collection! I might have to check it out, especially the mascara!

  52. The packaging is pretty but the shades of the products are a little too light/pale for my coloring. That palette looks really pretty though!
