A Few Fave Foreign Beauty Products

So all week I've been sharing many product reviews--I hope you've enjoyed and maybe found a new product or two to try. Today, I'm finishing the week with a roundup of a few fave foreign beauty products. When I travel, I'm on a quest to try beauty products from other countries--like this post. And thanks to Ebay, Hmart, and Amazon, I've expanded to Asian products as well. Below you'll see just a sampling of some faves:*

A few of my fave foreign beauty products

Lioele BB Cream--I was on a mission to find an Asian BB cream that wasn't grey and this fits the bill. Plus, how pretty is the packaging? It's only in one shade, so it's perfect for when my skin is lighter. Oily skin will really love this. It wears nicely and can be used as a primer. I purchased this for around $20.

Baby Shine Foot--This is a must for soft feet this summer. Essentially, you place your feet in the plastic booties, pour the liquid into the booties, and then hunker down for about 90 minutes. Yes, 90 minutes. Then, wash your feet and within a couple of days, your feet will start peeling. It's pretty gross and takes around 5 days to peel off completely. Yes, it's gross and not painful. Pedis are painful for me, so this is a nice alternative. I suggest doing this in the winter or spring, so you can hide your feet with socks. Don't pay more than a dollar or two for these.

Kinoki Collagen Eye Pads--Maybe you didn't get enough sleep last night. Maybe you had a late night. Maybe you had too many salty foods. Whatever the reason, you have puffy bags under your eyes and these collagen pads (I've used several brands, and they're all about the same) will get rid of them. I keep them by the bed, and when the alarm goes off, I place them on my eyes and hit snooze a couple of times. Within 20-30 minutes, your eyes are back to normal. I try to use the pads a couple of times before tossing. They're very cold on the skin and sort of gel-like to the touch. Don't pay more than a couple of dollars for these.

Innoxa Bleues--I first started using this product the first time I went to Europe, as it isn't sold here. These blue drops make the blues and whites of your eyes pop. It doesn't take the red out, but makes them brighter. There are other similar brands, but this one I've used the most since 2005. I've paid around $5-$10 for these.

Bioderma Sensibio Makeup Remover--I'm not exaggerating when I say that I have 3 bottles of this French makeup remover. I love it! It feels, smells, and looks like water, but removes makeup easily. It isn't greasy and it doesn't irritate my eyes or face. This is a no-rinse formula. I paid $10 for two bottles.

It's not what it looks like. It's an eye mask!

Kao Megurism Steam Hot Eye Mask--I suffer from some pretty painful headaches, with most of them due to sinuses. I find that heat works the best in alleviating pain, but rice bags and heating pads are too hot/heavy for me. These masks are the perfect thing! They come in several scents--I've tried them all, with lavender and eucalyptus being my faves--and even unscented, as pictured. They alleviate headaches in the forehead area too--just place the mask on your forehead. While I've never experienced any "steam" action, the masks stay warm for about 30 minutes, which is enough time to make me fall asleep. I've even used these to relieve cramps in a pinch when traveling. Around $5-10 for a pack of 5.

Where to Buy?

  • Amazon.com
  • Ebay--best prices and usually free shipping, but it takes around 3 weeks to receive products
  • Prettyandcute.com--this is the cutest website and I want everything on it.
  • HMart--I can visit this Asian superstore, but they sell online as well. I like the sheet masks from here.
  • Asian beauty stores

What are your favorite foreign beauty products?

*Disclaimer: Minus the BB Cream, which I've used for 6 months, all of the other products have been repurchased and used for years. I've experienced no skin/other issues with these products. Be aware that the ingredient standards are different for each country. I encourage you to research the product for reviews, ingredients, and directions for use before purchasing.

Have a great weekend! Be safe, behave, and be well. Love, Elle

  1. Ahh! I really want to try Bioderma! I love Shiseido for my dose of asian products. :) Some Asian face masks seem to be pretty cool though I have only tried one and I don't really remember. Some of the packaging on Asian face masks can sometimes be really pretty!

  18. That baby shine foot sounds great. I do something similar with vaseline and ziploc bags. I rub vaseline all over my feet before bed, wrap my tootsies in the bag and when I wake up in the morning and wash it off, my feet are SOOOOO soft.
