12 Months of Resolutions: February's Results & March's Challenge

I realized I forgot to post this! And it's been one of my most proud moments. Seriously. So for February, I decided to give up Diet Coke for a month. I've tried at least two times on the blog before, always ending in failure. This time, I did it!! I did it!! Have I had Diet Coke since? Yes, but the gotta-have-it feeling isn't there. The only negative, which really isn't, is I expected to have super amazing skin from all the water I drank. My skin was the same, but I know it's healthier.

For Lent, I gave up chocolate. That lasted around 6 hours, when I had a bite of some chocolate ice cream, and completely forgot. So instead I gave up cupcakes/cake, and am carrying this over into March. So far, so good.
Evil deliciousness, in an old-school glass bottle.

PS: There are two posts today! Check 'em out.

  3. Congrats! I know how hard it is to quit! That diet coke photo is hard for me to even look at. I've been trying to quit my diet pepsi habit, especially since I know how truly awful the stuff is for you, but it's my crack so mostly I just steer far away from it so I'm not tempted.

  9. I'm ditching for chocolates
and soda drinks too. Plus, it's no good
for my Mr.Freddy. Not healthy and made him hyper.

  10. Congrats! I'm proud of you. I gave up sweets for Lent...chocolate, candy, cake, ice cream, the whole bit. So far so good! I don't crave sugar anymore but Easter candy is the BEST. And yeah, I've had maybe five diet cokes since February and have been drinking lemon water, my skin's not that much better either. Bummer.

  11. Change is such a struggle. Habit is a powerful force. Even when we know we should change, actually doing it is never easy -- and often unsuccessful. Good luck with your efforts.

  12. Good job! I truly believe that cutting most artificial sweeteners makes our bodies jump with joy! Cake and chocolate though... Baked goods are my downfall but I am wishing you continued success!

  17. Oh congrats on giving up Diet Coke for February!

It sucks that you can't just give up sweets and have your face be super awesome. It should totally work that way!

  18. Congratulations! That's tough to do. I used to drink diet coke like crazy a few years ago, then I switched to Crystal Light. Which still isn't great with all the artificial sweeteners, but it's a step in the right direction. ;)

  19. I don't think drinking lots of water has a lot of skin impact. But it will have other benefits on your health. My doctor has me drinking ~2L a day, lol.

  20. Congrats!!! As for your skin--- give it a few more weeks to see the full effects. There are a lot of chemicals built up that still need to be flushed out. Also, peppermint tea is also great for the skin!

  21. Congratulations!! I'm failing in my ditching Diet Coke, I'm down to one a day though...

  22. YAY ELLE! I am scared to try Diet Coke since I've given it up for all these months...I'm afraid I'd have an allergic reaction to it or something since I haven't had it in so long. Haha, just kidding ;)

Now giving up chocolate? That's a whole different story for this child!

Thanks for your comment...I somtimes wish Chickfila was open on Sundays too! That way we could enjoy their yummy goodness all week long. ;) But I really do apprecaite their morals in not being open on that day too.

  28. Way to go! I'm not sure I could give up my (regular) Coke. I definitely have that "Gotta Have It" feeling and it would be very hard for me to not start my day with my morning Coke. People would not want to be around me for sure! But I do try to keep it to just one a day.
