How To: Lauren Conrad's Hair

When I saw this picture of Lauren Conrad on Pinterest, I knew I had to recreate it. And now I'm gonna show you how. Enjoy!

LEVEL:
Beginner

TIME:
  • 5-10 minutes for curling hair
  • 5 minutes for separating, teasing, and pinning hair

TOOLS:
  • Heat protectant (not pictured)
  • Rat tail/teasing comb (a bristle brush works too)
  • Spray-n-play hair spray
  • Curling wand or curling iron without using clamp (my fave wand is the Remington T-Studio Curling Wand)
  • Bobby pins or small claw hair clip
METHOD:
  • Start by spraying hair with heat protectant and let dry. Brush hair.
  • Once the curling wand is nice and hot, wrap 1 inch sections around it--away from your face.
  • Hold 5-10 seconds, depending on how hard it is to curl hair. Make sure the cord is pointed toward the ceiling.
  • If it comes out too kinky curly, pull and stretch curls. Otherwise, the curl will fall a bit and look wavy.
  • Spray and let cool.
  • Optional: I'd also suggest a hair texturizer to give hair that piecey look.
  • Separate bangs/fringe. Since I don't have bangs, I just separated a section of hair around my crown and pulled back.
  • I used my normal part in my hair, but another option is to part down the middle.
  • Take that section and tease it!
  • If more height is needed, use a spray-n-play hairspray, meaning hair can still be manipulated once sprayed.
  • Smooth hair on top of head and pin hair.
  • If some height is still needed, make a slight poof at the back of the head and pin. If the poof is closer to the front of your head, it'll look like Snooki, and that's not the look we want. Poof it towards the back of your head.
  • Spray and you're done!
