Product Test Drive:Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion

Now y'all know I don't like to spend a lot of $ on makeup if I can find something cheaper or more reasonable. I've never tried the pricer brands, like Dior Show. I just can't afford it.  And one area where that philosophy works is mascara. I've tried lots of mascaras, and I can't stand the cult-fave Maybelline Great lash. I normally use Cover Girl's Lash Blast mascara--in the orange tube. It works perfectly on my eyelashes. I was super excited to see the release of Cover Girl's Lash Blast Fusion.
It promises volume and length and was $7.99. So how did it work? Warning: Crazy Eye Pics AHEAD!

Here's my eye before. I realized later this shouldn't have been (a) at 8am with puffy eyes (b) without concealer (c) I look scary! And my eyes are blue-green. Anyway...
Here's after 1 coat. I look SURPRISED! Ha

After 2 coats
Both eyes after 2 coats. No add'l eye makeup or eyelash curler so you can see the mascara better.

So how did I like it? To me, it seemed pretty much like my regular Lash Blast, with slightly longer lashes. I also don't let my lashes dry between coats so I don't have clumpy raccoon-eyes. Would I buy it again? If the regular Lash Blast is cheaper, I'm going for that since the results seemed the same. Maybe next time I'll do one eye with my usual and one eye with the mascara I'm trying.

What's your fave mascara? What makes it so great?

PS--Have you entered my GIVEAWAY? It ends July 12th.

And thanks to Cafe Bellini for giving me the Happy 101 award!

  3. I'm the opposite, I hardly ever buy drugstore brands... but mascaras are the exception! I HAVE tried Dior Show and I don't like it very much. I like Max Factor. I did a post on mascaras a while back, if you're interested :-)

  6. This is my first stop here and mascara is right up my alley (oh, and I love Atlanta!)I love this new mascara (mine came in an orange wand) and love that it's as serious about pumping my lashes as I am, and quickly. The only one that works faster/better for me is this one for $20: http://www.mallybeauty.com/store/category/eyes/mascaralashes/item/EY0002/volumizing_mascara/

    Both are great! Have fun.

  7. Cute post, thanks for the tips! Although, I have to admit that I don't really wear mascara or any eye makeup for that matter simply because I don't like having to take it off. Am I lazy, one might ask? Yep!

  13. That looks great! I use Loreal's Voluminous mascara, and I like it alright. I still haven't found the perfect volumizing mascara.

  14. I don't know about you, but any time I'm in the drugstore, I get distracted by all the different mascaras. They're such an easy way to make a person look polished and glam!

  21. This post is very helpful. I use the orange tube one too. I find that it dries out and clumps quickly; do you have that same problem?? But overall the results are good.
