Outfit of the Week: China Blue

You loveys know I draw my outfit inspirations from the most random things, like a cupcake, polish, a popsicle, or even a cup in my hand. Today, I was going through some plates my grandmother had given me. They're damask/China blue, like this:

And it made me instantly think of a dress Reese Witherspoon had on recently.
I love the light pinks paired with the crisp whites. I would wear the necklace I made with it and other silver jewelry. You might be more adventurous and add red instead or yellow?

How would you wear this outfit?

PS--If you look at the top, I've added some info about me and about the blog. I love learning more about y'all so I thought I'd return the favor! Enjoy!

  1. What a very cute dress! I would pair pale yellow, pink, and ivory to off set the blue, this dress screams for a floppy straw hat!

  2. I really really love the blue and white combo, so I'm definitely loving the plates your grandmother gave you...so pretty. And making an outfit out of those colors? Even prettier!

  19. The colors of china like that are so evocative (my grandma collected plates in that color scheme) that I'd respect the essence of the blue and white/cream, and just modernize it with some subtle pops of baby pink or yellow. Red would be gorgeous, but only if one is okay with moving away from the days-gone-by aspect of the look.
