Java Jive

Are you a breakfast person? Personally, I'm perfectly pleased with peanut buttered toast. This weekend, however, I stepped out of the box. I wanted to actually eat real breakfast food AND I wanted it during breakfast hours. The result? Java Jive. As soon as you walk in, you step back to a retro 1950s kitschy kitchen. There's a plethora of old appliances, linoleum, and formica tables.
They're known as having the best biscuits in Atl and they have some excellent coffee. I've visited twice and on those visits (group, really short wait time and Saturday with the bestie) I've enjoyed the bottled Cokes, pancakes, grits (it's a Southern delicacy!), and pecan waffles. I did get syrup in my hair, but this is no surprise as I'm supa clumsy! So if you want breakfast with simple choice, no fuss (no mimosas here) and a cool atmosphere, Java Jive is the spot!

Elle's Tips: Park behind the store--not next door or you'll be towed. Also, it's CASH ONLY. There's an ATM inside the store, but this fact seems to really tick people off, so you were warned.
Java Jive is located at 790 Ponce De Leon Ave NE. It's open from 8-2 M-F and 9-2:30 S & S. I'm not paid for these endorsements. I just want to show some cool places!
