Movie of the Week: Amelie

This week Elle See's Movie of the Week is one of my Favorite Movies of All Time: Amelie. This French rom-com from 2001 is the story of Amelie Poulain, a shy waitress working outside of Paris who decides to change the lives of those around her. Audrey Tatou is super cute and adorable as the title character.
I love the sweet story and was, of course, drawn to the colors. The jewel-toned reds, blues, and especially greens make the film delicious and make you fall in love with Paris all over again. Did you ever watch the tv series Pushing Daisies? That show was influenced by Amelie--the digitally enhanced coloring and whimsy.
Don't let the fact that the film has subtitles stop you (Ugh, I have to READ the movie?). Anytime I've heard that from friends and shown them this film, they've instantly fallen in love.  I own the beautiful soundtrack (nerd!) and below is one of my favorite songs from the movie.

Also, below is an inspiration board from the movie. I know it's influenced my style. I hope you enjoy it too.
