5 Things I Am Super Lazy About + 5 Things I Am NOT Lazy About

It's Friday and my mind is already in weekend mode. I have a bunch of beauty posts lined up, but today I'm feeling lazy and I wanted to chat. That got me to thinking--what are you lazy about? What things *must* you do? I chose 5 for each topic, but easily could have gone on and on. I can't wait to hear your answers!

I typed in "lazy" and this is what came up. Looks like anything but lazy, right?
5 Things I Am Super Lazy About

Packing--I love to travel. LOVE it. But packing? Even for an overnight trip? Nah, I leave that until the very last possible second. Note: I must unpack the second I get home.

Making my bed--I know, I know. This is my secret shame that I never share because I get SO judged for it. In my defense, I have a pup that loves to mess up the sheets and comforter AND pillows. I throw the comforter over the bed and then straighten everything up right before I get in at night. No one ever sees my room, so it's no big deal.

Unloading the dishwasher/Washing dishes--I tend to use my dishwasher as more of a dish drainer, but while I was so sick, I ran that sucker constantly. And then didn't unload it. My dishes are few--I am bad about washing coffee mugs and whatever fork I used that day. I'm generally a clean freak, but slack in this area.

Email--I am THE WORST at responding to emails. I am usually reading them while nannying, so I'll take a quick read and then promptly forget to respond. It's not personal, y'all. I swear.

Untying my shoes--I get judged for this too! I see it as I'm on the go, so I need to put those shoes on as fast as possible, whether it's taking Charlie for a walk or chasing after all of the kids in my life.

5 Things I Am NOT Lazy About

Putting the toilet paper roll on the RIGHT way--I thought everyone did this, but no. I've gone to houses where the new roll was on top of an empty one. The horror! And we all know there's only one way to put the tp on the roll.

Waking up--I'm not a hit snooze kind of person. I wake up, usually right before the alarm (boo) and then think of what I'm thankful for or a few things that make me happy. It's a nice way to start off my morning.

Laundry--I don't let it pile up and I don't let the dryer go on and on. I fold it all as soon as it's out the dryer. I'm about 90% good at putting it away though! Ironing will not be discussed at this time!

Getting gas--I have this paranoia that I'll be stranded somewhere, which is absurd because I live in the city. I'm not crazy-obsessed with getting gas, but I don't let it get lower than 1/4 of a tank.

Removing makeup--Even on my most tired, sick, stay-up-late days, I *have* to remove that makeup. I just feel dirty with it on. Keep makeup wipes in your nightstand if you need to for such makeup removal emergencies.

Now it's your turn!
What are you lazy and NOT lazy about?

Extra Elle:
Did you try the Starbucks Unicorn frapp? I was surprised at the backlash and food shaming--there are drinks already that have way more sugar/calories than this. I wrote an Instagram post on it, here.

Today I'm at the grand opening of a new Sephora at Buckhead Exchange in Atlanta! I'll be livestreaming and everything on Instagram. Come see me and let's shop! I'll have a full write up next week.

  2. I am guilty of all of those top items, and a couple of those bottom ones too, like laundry and definitely unloading the dishwasher. The one thing I always do is get the kids organized when they get home from school. Cleaning out lunch boxes and going through their folders is a must for me. I wish I could stop by the Sephora store and see you today, but I have so much going on. Have fun!

  3. I am lazy when it comes to putting things away ordering my closet. I am also lazy about folding clothes after washing them. I am not lazy with making my bed and taking my makeup off. Fun post! Have a great weekend Elle!

  4. I'm always lazy when it comes to emails. I'm trying to get better but it's not easy. I can't go to bed without taking my makeup off first and I have to make my bed every morning! I cannot leave the house if my bed is not made. haha I'm super lazy about laundry as I hate doing it.

  5. We're the opposite... I am horrible with laundry but I'm always on the dishwasher. Cant stand for dishes to be in there.

  6. Haha I'm the same way about the toilet paper roll - drives me nuts! And I don't let the laundry pile up either, because then it just becomes overwhelming. Happy Friday gurlie <3

  7. I am the same as you, Elle as in I wake up before alarm and to be honest, I don't have an alarm at all. I'm lucky that my husband is the same, we wake up latest 7am even on weekend and that's us sleeping in. LOL! Onto the backlash on Starbuck unicorn drink, I swear some people these days are just looking for excuse to complain and whine.

  8. I used to live right down the street from that area in Buckhead. The apartments got torn down awhile ago and a little piece of me died. I am the same with the toilet paper, and my bed has to be made and the sink needs to be emptied. I put off plenty of other chores though lol. Have a great weekend!

  9. I am the exact same way about packing and unpacking! Depending on life, I am sometimes good about laundry and sometimes not, but once it is folded it gets put away immediately! And I am definitely not lazy about cleaning up the kitchen after I make dinner. I make sure everything is wiped, swept, and put away!

  10. I'm DEF lazy about making my bed and tying my shoes lol I honestly barley ever make my bed during the week. Its awful. I also always slip on my sneakers. I am pretty good with laundry and do several times a week and usually fold it and put it away in the same night. I am very good at taking off my makeup everynight as well! I think we are very similar with these!

  11. Ooo l love this post! I'm the same way with packaging, I wait until the last second but I have to unpack right when I get home! I also am lazy about making my bed. I am not lazy about taking my makeup off either, but also about dishes. I hate dirty ones in my sink!

  12. Love this post! I'm lazy about washing my makeup brushes - I need to do it more often instead of just buying more! I'm not lazy at taking my makeup off - I love it! xx

  13. I love this post! I try not to be lazy about laundry or getting gas too. My husband can be lazy about the tp and it drives me crazy! I was surprised people got so crazy about the unicorn drink. I think I would have liked it, and to each her own!

  14. I'm with you on all five of the things you're not lazy about! And you know from personal experience how slow I am to respond to emails as well, haha! I will say, we always make our bed every day, but don't feel badly because all of our friends make fun of us for it! None of them make their beds unless people are coming over so they think we're the weird ones. ;)

  15. I also love to travel,but I don't like packing my bags .. ;)

  16. I love this post and it really got me thinking. I'm lazy about making my bed too. I used to never miss a day but these days, I sleep till the last minute, roll out, and get ready as fast as possible. I'm also really lazy with laundry and the dishwasher. I wish I wasn't a snoozer person, I might actually have time to make my bed haha I'm not lazy about removing my makeup either. I can't imagine sleeping with makeup on. I just can't do it! I'm also not lazy about putting things away, or keeping things in their place. I went to get the unicorn frapp and they were out of stuff. I was so mad! I might try a different location tomorrow. I saw your InstaStory and you looked beautiful. Wish I lived closer so I could have come and shopped! Can't wait to read the recap. Enjoy your weekend!

  17. Lazy about: dusting! I hate doing it and I will put it off every time. I am not lazy about making my bed or cleaning the bathroom sink.

  18. I'm so with you on making my bed...that never happens. I don't see the point although others may disagree. Unloading the dishwasher and folding laundry are equally two of my least favorite things in terms of "chores" around the house.

  19. I am lazy about hanging up clothes. I wash and fold everything super quickly (not lazy), and then take a pile of clean clothes back to my room to hang everything up. But for some reason I always leave the pile on top of my dresser to hang up later, and it really annoys me. So every night I am annoyed about having to hang up those clothes because I'm tired, haha. I am not lazy about taking off my make up though, I love that feeling

  20. I'm lazy about putting the clothes away after I wash & dry them. I think they sit on the dryer all folder for as long as they were in the dirty clothes hamper!!
But I'm not lazy about answering emails---I always try to get that off my list first, so I can delete them!! :)
    Have a great weekend, Elle!

  21. Aw I really enjoyed reading this post Elle :) I am lazy at washing my car as I just hate doing it! I with you though when it comes to taking my makeup off and can never go to sleep with it on. x

  22. I am the same way with email! I feel terrible, but so often I read an email and mean to respond later but end up forgetting...

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yes yes yes to all of these! I pack so late and always forget something but the first thing I do when I get home is unpack, laundry, shower etc! And the gas one too, I'm paranoid as well!

  24. I want to wear makeup more often, but when I do these days, I always have to take it off. It feels too weird to just sleep in it. I'm good at waking up too. I have to get out of my bed to turn off the alarm, so I couldn't hit snooze even if I wanted to!

I didn't hear about all the backlash for the Unicorn Frap. People seemed to want to get it b/c it's cute. haha I'm in a weight loss program so there was no WAY I could get it - but I can't really get anything there.

  25. Oh man, I am so guilty to so many of these. There is a small pile of dishes waiting for me in my sink, and I just got home, and I looked at them, and they looked at me, and I was like, nah. I'm usually a good packer, but Unpacking. Now that's another story altogether. I still have to unpack from my trip last week. ugh.

  26. Loved this! I am really lazy about unloading the dishwasher sometimes. It just seems to take forever. I try to always make my bed, though, because it makes my room feel so much more put-together. :)

  27. hahah I HATE when ppl put the TP the wrong way -- or worse when they just put a new roll on top of the old empty roll...my husband does that! i'm great about making my bed but im terrible about washing my face everyday which i know is NOT good! xo jillian - cornflake dreams

  28. I'm totally with you on the things you're lazy about. But I am happy to live in Asia where I can have a cleaner that does my dishes. AHAHA. I wish I could just wake up and not snooze. I snooze and snooze and snooze. Sigh. But yup, I always take my make up off, no matter how tired I am or how late I've been out!

    ReplyDelete
  29. I never make my bed! haha I mean maybe if people are coming over, but usually nope. (; I too have a dog who burrows. (;

  30. I'm not lazy about all the same things as you, especially gas. I typically fill up at 25%. Haha! I'm also not lazy about making my bed. I am lazy at untying my shoes and letting paperwork, mail, and kids' school work pile up on my desk. I have all sorts of "inboxes" but they are filled to the brim and I only go through them about once a week.
