NEW Revlon Mascaras: Everything You Need To Know

Y'all, Revlon recently released 5 new mascaras and we need to talk about them all. I have notoriously not been a huge fan of Revlon mascaras, but when I spotted these, I had to try them. Of course I did. You know my weakness for new mascaras, as evidenced by my Instagram bio.

Let's dig in:

  • Revlon is replacing all mascaras in their line with these 5 new options
  • All-in-One is the easiest to find, and is usually in a stand-alone display. I have seen the whole collection only once in a store, although several sources confirm January 2016 as the release date.
  • Waterproof won't be available until summer 2016
  • 3 shades
  • $8.99 each

Revlon Dramatic Definition Mascara
  • "bold, clump-free lashes"
  • tired, plastic, bendable wand
  • not too wet of a mascara
  • I liked this one, 4 out of 5
Revlon Ultra Volume Mascara
  • "Massive lashes"
  • traditional wand
  • not too wet of a mascara formula, but did transfer under lower lash line
  • decent volume, 3 out of 5
  • Reminded me of Grow Luscious Potion

Revlon Volume Length Magnified

  • "mega amplified lashes"
  • traditional brush wand
  • drier, fiber mascara formula
  • didn't deliver like I'd hoped, 3 out of 5

Revlon Super Length Mascara
  • "long, lush lashes"
  • very short, very large wand
  • hard to work with due to size
  • lovely length, 4 out of 5
Revlon All-In-One Mascara
  • very interesting wand--small, plastic, flexible, oval-shaped that's hollow in the midle
  • really wet mascara
  • every time I use this, my lashes fall out onto the wand!
  • 4 out of 5

Overall, I prefer dramatic-looking mascaras. Give me the length, the volume and I'm a happy girl.
Did I find any "holy grail" mascaras? No, but I definitely found a mascara for just about everyone.

Have you tried any of the new Revlon mascaras?
Are you a fan of the old ones?

Extra Elle:
  • Last week: my dad's remaining ashes were finally interred, my friend had a stroke, my friend died a few days later, and my bathroom was flooded, thanks to a cracked tank. It can only go up from here, right? It already has, thanks to you. Every sweet thought, prayer, comment, email, and more helped me get through a challenging week. Love y'all! #positivity
  • I'm sharing 5 funny necessities when I'm sick right here--#3 is my fave.

  1. I don't think these reached us yet... But the 4 looks like a winner for me. Thank you for a fantastic review and all the visuals, Elle! x

  2. Yea, I'm not a fan of Revlon mascara either. I'm still going to use my Rimmel cat eyes. I love that one. And since that's pretty much the only make up I wear on the daily...I really like to have a dramatic lash also. Lol

  7. I'm very interested in the wand on that last one. Ulta used to make a mascara with a wand kind of like that and it was my favorite, but sadly they discontinued it :( I hope this week is going better than last week!

  8. I'm loving the packaging of this mascara, Elle:) And out of all of them, the Dramatic one will probably be the one I'll try.

PS (((Hugs)))) Elle. I'm not loving November so far as well:( We got into a car accident just yesterday. Sigh....

  15. Such cute tubes, too! You do such great reviews, especially the side-by-side photos. I really like the 2nd one and the last 2 on you! I have NEVER purchased a Revlon mascara, ever! It seems I am always grabbing Maybelline. I'll have to look at these.

  17. I have yet to see these, but I am super intrigued. Can't say Revlon products wow me though, so my expectations aren't too high. I hope the winds start changing for you!

  20. I think I've not tried any Revlon mascaras and don't plan to because I find L'oreal and Maybelline's mascaras are best for my lashes. These don't sound like they would do much for my lashes either so I'll continue to pass.

Hugs, Elle, it's been so tough on you recently. Chin up and yes, it could only get better. xx

  21. I haven't been a Revlon fan either, but I love the idea of this line! It seems so easy to choose exactly what you want.

  22. These look interesting, will defiantly go check these out. I like having an full lash as an everyday lash. Just find mascara is a preference thing, specially when it comes to how wet or dry the formulation is. What a great insight to some new products.

  23. I just shuddered thinking of precious lashes falling out into a wand! I will avoid that one. Thanks for this review! I definitely will pick that first one up.

  24. I haven't seen any of these yet. I think the last one gives you the most drama.

  30. I haven't seen any of the new ones, but thank you for sharing the reviews! I think I might just stay away from Revlon mascaras. Ironically enough I'm using a Revlon mascara right now, but it's one of their older mascaras in a green tube.

I really hope that things will get better for you, because it's about time that good things started happening :)

  31. I'm sorry things have been rough for you lately Elle, but you are always in my thoughts!!! These mascaras though...is it weird that I am really not into the packaging?

  32. I have never been a fan of the Revlon mascaras. Or well, most of their products to be honest. I did like some of their nail polishes. I may be willing to give the new line a try, but I feel there are probably better ones out there to be excited about.

Girl, sounds like you are having a rough week. Sending you all the hugs!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I've seen the all in one in stores. I'll probably skip is since it made you'd lashes fall out. That's crazy they are replacing all their mascara with these new ones. I've never been a fan of revlon mascaras though. But I do love trying new ones too, but I might skip these!

  34. Thanks for the overview of all of these! I haven't come across them yet.

  44. Thank you so much for this. I will buy either the Dramatic or the Length Magnified one next time I am grocery shopping. So sorry about your dad again and I bet sharing the story about his ashes isn't easy for you. =(

  45. Oh honey, what a rough last week for you! Yes, things can definitely only go up from here!

I am such a sucker for new mascaras! As thin as my eyelashes are, I find myself wanting buy every new product that promises fuller lashes! Speaking of, I bought the two you suggested (Too Faced Better than Sex and L'Oreal Voluminous) and I like them both better than anything else I've tried. I actually wear the L'Oreal one more often because I kind of think it gives me better results (which is funny because it's the drugstore one!). I just recently had someone tell me that they use BOTH of those (the Too Faced first and then follow up with a coat of L'Oreal). I haven't tried it yet, but I think I might soon! Maybe that'll be my holy grail combo. ;)

  46. Love a great mascara! Thanks for the good review I haven't seen these yet but will keep looking!

  47. Ooh fun, new mascaras to try! I want to try the super length variety--that may just go into my cart when it comes out!

    ReplyDelete
  48. For some reason I read the whole post thinking these were colored mascaras (due to the caps) lmao. Then when I saw your example photos with you trying each, I was like ... wait, I'm missing something haha.

I don't think I've ever tried Revlon mascaras, and I haven't seen these in store yet. I'll keep my eyes out for these, the dramatic definition & the all-in-one are my favorites.

  49. I tried the Super Length (green one),don't waste your money, it made my lashes look terrible, short and clumpy, I looked better with no mascara at all. The brush is too big, I was getting product on my nose, upper lid, everywhere,it did not add length at all! Product is dry to put on, but was very messy to even get off. I had it on for about 2 hours and it started to give me Racoon eyes, smudging on my upper lids. Leave it in the store! The beauty counter girl recommended the Maybelline Lash Sensational, what a difference. Love it.
