Rants + Raves (Plus GE Reveal Light Bulbs Giveaway)

Every Sunday I share the highs and lows of my week in a recap I call Rants + Raves. Enjoy.

Rants
  • I'm not a sports fan at all, minus college football a few months out of the year. UGA is my team. GA lost. They came back in the 4th quarter, were ahead by 1, and then a lucky catch ended that.
  • This maintenance man at my apartment in a jerk! The story is too long and boring to tell here, but he's just not nice. He hasn't bothered me and Charlie for months, as we've managed to avoid each other, but not lately. He gives me bad vibes and makes Charlie, who is such a sweetheart, bark like a maniac.
  • Drowning in email...argh, I feel like I can never get ahead.
  • A guy I had known since he was little passed away unexpectedly, and at a young age...It made me mad and sad. It makes me want to save everyone who's hurting, but I know I can't.

Raves
  • I went to my first Blogger Meet up on Thursday. I've been to several events where bloggers were there, but not one specifically for bloggers. It was great to meet the faces behind the blogs. I often feel left out since most bloggers already know each other or are style bloggers and it's hard to get into that circle. I get a little bummed hearing them making plans and knowing I'm not invited. I've followed their blogs, their social media, and now I'm waiting, hoping they might find me interesting enough to do the same!
  • Making plans for Thanksgiving--I haven't been home in months.
  • I have a huge haul coming! Lots of new beauty products to play with!
  • Fire, hot cocoa, and a snoring pup in my lap--perfect way to spend an evening
GE Reveal Giveaway:
Thinking about giving a room in your house a quick makeover? One easy way to do that is with light bulbs. It seriously makes such a HUGE difference. I'm serious! I can use my bathroom now to take blog pictures. And if the light bulbs aren't for you, consider entering for someone you love. An elderly relative would love these. GE Reveal is offering to give one lucky reader a package of light bulbs. I originally blogged about them here. I'm not getting paid to mention these--I'm just a huge fan and wanted to share the love!

Leave a comment below with a way to contact you. That's it. Giveaway ends 12-01-2013.

PS:
$100 gift card giveaway ends TOMORROW!

New post from Revlon at noon on Monday!

  5. You're having a lot of different giveaways on your blog! Sorry to hear about the popular girls, maybe they have been friends since they were all new bloggers and all grew together as bloggers? A great support system in this community is what will make a great blogger out there I think. I may still am working on mine but I have met such great girls on blogger that have been very positive and we have such a great support system =)

  6. So scary about the maintenance guy. Dogs have a way of knowing. Our previous neighbor was really bizarre and my dog hated him(and she loves everyone!)

  7. Sorry about your maintenance man. It always sucks to have to deal with people like that. But that's exciting about the blogger meet-up! I'm sure great things will come from it. You are awesome, and your cute personality shines through your blog. :)

  11. Sorry to hear about your friend's passing--very sad. Trust your gut (Charlie's, too!) about that maintenance guy. There's always something to our intuition. Hugs on your Monday, T. http://tickledpinkwoman.blogspot.com

  15. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. :(

&& our maintenance man is a total douche too. He's just really rude and does things on his own time. They're SUPPOSED to give 48 hours notice before they come to do anything but he just shows up and expects me to sit around and wait until he's done. Lately our roommate and I have told him he can't come in without notice because we're so sick of his surprise visits.

Anyway you can contact me through my blog:

  16. Oh, I would so love to attend a blogger meetup someday. I feel like I live in a land where no one blogs, so there is so little opportunity to meet others. :(

  18. So sorry for your loss, Elle.

I am certain that dogs pick up on things and bark at people they think are shady! Oliver does it all the time. Some people he will go right up to and other people he will bark at until they go away.

  21. I wonder why the maintenance guy has such an attitude. Well as long as you don't get in each other's ways, hopefully it should be ok.
Ooh these light bulbs would be great in my parent's home! I've tried them before and they're pretty cool.

  27. I agree...the light bulbs truly make a big difference. I changed those in my kitchen and I'm so glad I did. Now, I need to move on and have my lighting in the living room changed up too. :) Thanks for sharing your tips.

  29. I'm so very sorry that you lost a dear friend. That's such a hard thing to process, especially when they are young. I'm glad you were able to go to the blogger event! I feel this way: People are not above you, nor are they beneath you. We were all created equal in the eyes of God, so never let anyone have any kind of impact on the way you feel about yourself, especially when you are as sweet and awesome as you are. ;)
