My resolution for January was to focus on the blog. So how did I do? See my "report card" below! Strike-throughs mean COMPLETED!
GOALS:
New blog layoutNew blog buttons- Change Header (coming soon)
Animated Elle Sees button thanks Artsy Ants!New Twitter layout- Sponsorships
- Respond to comments daily (I responded to every comment, it just wasn't daily.)
Find at least one new blog to read/possibly respond dailyCreate a posting schedule.Write quality postsStreamline amount of posts to 4-5x's a weekDo product reviews(so far I have 3 coming up!)Create enough blog ideas for 3 months in advanceDo monthly guest postsDo monthly features on bloggersUpdate blog pages (About, Featured In, etc)12 months of DIYsMonthly entertainments/partiesIncrease followers and commentsWhile I agree that followers aren't everything (I'm bewildered by new blogs with lots of followers but there's no interaction) I was pleased to find my followers jump a notch.
WILL I CONTINUE THIS RESOLUTION IN THE FUTURE? Most certainly! I hope I never get to the point where I feel my blog is complete. I welcome any and all suggestions (and help!).
NOTES: I think I did pretty well this month. While my blog isn't at the complete level that I want, it's definitely an improvement that I hope everyone noticed! I appreciate the constructive criticism I've gotten. I really, really enjoy interacting with fellow bloggers and I love it when people take the time to leave a thoughtful comment. I can only hope I've done the same for you!
Do you have any resolutions? What are they?
Love this!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with giving up Diet Coke!
oh elle! i hope you can give up your soda! i'm crossing my fingers for you! i heard that people lose like, 10 lbs. when they give it up! (i'm not a fan, so i wouldn't know. i'm more of an apple juice addict :)
ReplyDeleteYay for you friend.....
ReplyDeletethats awesome!
Good luck on giving up Diet Coke. Part of my resolution this year is to drink more water. It feels like such a chore though. I rarely buy soda, even diet soda, because if it's in the house, that's all I will drink. When I lived in SoCal, I swear I only drank Diet Pepsi, I'm not sure how I didn't die of dehydration lol.
ReplyDeleteCheck out my cowl scarf give-away!
Good luck with Diet Coke! Looks like January went well :)
ReplyDeleteYou did well on getting things done for your blog. I think it's coming along great!
ReplyDeleteAbout your no-soda policy: I'm convinced you're doing yourself one of the biggest favors ever. We never have soda in the house, not because we don't like it (actually we LOVE Coke etc.) but because of how extremely unhealthy it is. They say especially the Diet stuff is like poison :(
Good job on your January list! I need to add a few things you have crossed off to my own blog resolutions!!!!
ReplyDeleteScrew soda... (but natural bubbly spring water, like pelligrino etc is good).. my savor actually....
ReplyDeleteYears ago.. coke wasn't so bad, but now it's artificial this, and that..diet is no better.. or worse? We never have soda.. only in moderation... and that might be a small coke from some fast food joint.. but I prefer... carbonated water..
Oh man, I totally tackled this resolution 2ish years ago. It's tough to give up diet soda, but you'll feel so much healthier for it!
ReplyDeleteElle, you kicked butt in January! It's super exciting to see all those tasks crossed off your list. Way to go.
ReplyDeleteHope February is another winner.
Leaving the House in THIS?!?!
That's a great to do list, you've gotten so much of it done already. I think the best is when people leave helpful comments, and though having followers isn't everything, it does help get other people interested if they see many people follow you. (And it also opens the door for paid product reviews, which is always good.)
ReplyDeleteSorry about the rant.
Happy Monday!

Hi- just discovered this blog. I love the idea of monthly resoultions. It makes the whole idea much more palatable. Great job on getting so many crossed off.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Good luck with giving up the soda!
Wow, you did so so much already babe! I say you've had a successful 2011 so far!
ReplyDeleteMy resolution is to go to the gym 5-6 days a week. In reality, I go only go twice, when I teach. Not good.
