Outfit of the Week: October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is an important cause for me because my beloved Great-Granny (Sugar) is a breast cancer survivor. She was diagnosed at 80 years old and fought it, proving the power of prayer. She's still going strong at 94! Here's how you can do an exam at home. Early detection is the key!

I attended an event earlier this month for breast cancer awareness and this is what I wore--remember "fall" in Atlanta can mean 80 degrees or 60.

I love this ruffly, flowy top. I don't have a lot of pink in my closet, but I love this one.
I wore it with the black cords and flats. The black makes it a bit more seasonally appropriate.
Accessories include some black and pink earrings and bracelet.
I did a soft smokey eye with pink accents, inspired by Keiko Lynn of course.
My toes were pink and I had big curls, ala Kendi Everyday's hair tutorial.

Do you buy products to support Breast Cancer Awareness?

  6. Wow! My Granny was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 80 also.. The doctor said she had two weeks to live, and it's been six years, and she's still with us!

I'm not a big pink wearer, but I love that pink ruffle top!
