BEACH WEEK: Sees Has Sunburn

BEACH WEEK 2010: So you got a little too much sun, eh? It happens to the best of us. You're out of aloe vera? No fear. Grab some black tea bags and you're good to go. It really works! Read on:

"You'll need a bathtub, pitcher, water, rag, and three bags of black tea. Fill the pitcher with warm water and soak the tea bags in it until the water is almost pitch black.

After stripping down and exposing the affected area, soak the rag into the water and apply it on your skin without wiping it off. It's recommended to do this treatment as soon as possible, or before going to bed so your body can heal itself more effectively. A combination of the cool water and components of the tea (like tannin) help soothe the skin and speed recovery."

  4. I've never used tea bags before to cure sunburns. I'll def try it out next time. As for my trick, though, I use Aloe Vera gel to help heal any unwanted burns. So soothing, but very very sticky.

  6. Nice tip! I got a sunburn the day before I was supposed to be in a wedding, I used the cooling spray with aloe in it and slept with cold washcloths on my arms and it was much less noticeable the next day. Also avoid putting any lotion or Vaseline product on a sunburn; it coats the skin trapping in the heat causing the skin to keep cookin'.
