- Stay hydrated with water. I've found that if you consume a bottle or glass of water for every drink/shot you have, chances are in your favor that you'll be in the clear.
- I also like eating something hearty--like a bean burrito. Some do this the morning after, but my tummy feels better if there's something to absorb the alc.
- Take some aspirin (not Tylenol, as pictured) if your stomach isn't sensitive or some alka-seltzer.
- SLEEP. Put in those ear plugs, slap on an eyemask, place a cold pack on your head and get some shut eye. Sleep through it.
- It's the morning. Sunglasses and eye drops help you look at least a little better.
- Exercise. Sweating for some reason really helps. But also see #1!
- As much as it pains you to do so, eat something, even if it's crackers/biscuits and little gingerale.
- Shower. A hot-as-you-can-stand shower helps--it works for me for migraines too.
Ok, for those of us who have survived this, any tips to add to the mix?
2 panadols will cure it, xoxo
ReplyDeleteI am tortured by migraines too :( I will try the hot shower method since nothing else seems to work!
ReplyDeleteWow I wish I could've read this before my birthday party.
ReplyDeleteBeing hungover almost ruined goign to Ellie Golding for me XD
I'll bear these in mind for tomorrows 'Exams are over' celebration! (:

Great tips...I usually go with aspirin and coffee:)
ReplyDeleteKisses darling:)
Have a great Wed!
Kinda cliche, but drinking a gatorade / powerade before bed really helps. Apparently they have some all natural products now, so that might be a good option too.
ReplyDeleteegg & cheese on a bagel works wonders the next morning. i also really like gatorade to help with the whole hydration thing.

I've never really had a bad hangover...but I do have a tip I learned from experience. After a night of drinking, do not go out on a boat in the lake with friends. BAD IDEA! Hahahaha. Also, my morning after breakfast has always been a Bojangle's egg and cheese biscuit and a large pepsi!! I don't know that it helps anything but I have to have it now. It's a tradition! :)
ReplyDeleteHydration is the key indeed!
ReplyDeletegeez, i needed this last weekend!
ReplyDeleteLol! All good tips! I also eat greasey foods, lots of water and sleep (if I can help it). But mostly, I try not to mix drinks to avoid hangovers :)
ReplyDeleteHangover Helpers... that's a cute title!
ReplyDeleteI rarely drink so when I do I'm such a lightweight, but I too have found that staying hydrated with water helps a lot!
Totally agree...loads of water and exercise (strangely enough!). Thanks for your comment on my blog.:)SarahD
ReplyDeleteOh hangovers.
ReplyDeleteI always just try to drink a ton of water before bed and take two tylenol.
Definitely water and some hearty food! Mostly I'm glad I'm past that stage.
ReplyDeletep.s. The sun room and not as funky grass rug were my favorite too!
No hangovers for this girl - I don't drink; though I've heard that lying down in a pitch-black room can help alleviate hangover symptoms. :/
ReplyDeleteNot a drinker. But I just wanted to say that you arrange your posts SO CUTE that I can't help but be drawn to them :)

I'm with your mom lol don't drink it! lol proudly straight edge!
ReplyDeletei would totally use these tips, but i'm a teetotaler which means no hangovers for me! :P
ReplyDeleteThe most amazing hang over helper is going to an oxygen bar and sitting there for about 20 minutes. I did this in Las Vegas and it was the most amazing thing I have ever experienced!! It's a must try!!

haha gotta go with sleeping it off!
ReplyDelete:)
i take two ibuprofen and two glasses of water before going to bed, and most times the hangover doesn't even come!
ReplyDeleteToo funny! And....bookmarking!
ReplyDeleteExercise? I can't believe that actually works. I think I would throw up, but maybe that's the point...throwing up always seems to help.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on 'eating something before taking a sip'. Giving the stomach something to work on helps a lot!
ReplyDeleteI don't drink either, but I read in Time that the best way to cure a hangover is- get this- coconut juice!! Apparently all those natural sugars and enzymes and whatnot work wonders.
ReplyDeleteGood tips :)
ReplyDeleteBacon. And yellow gatorade. Well, any gatorade or sports drink, really, because it has electrolytes, I just happen to favor lemon-lime. Also, do not take advil on an empty stomach - it's bad news bears.
ReplyDeleteDidn't know about the hot shower!
xoxo, Ashley
Breakfast potatoes. They were always my go-to in college.
ReplyDeletelove the post even though nowadays it's rare that i drink too much...
ReplyDeleteThese all are good. I've only needed these tips once in my life - and water water water is what made me feel better, totally.
ReplyDeleteFantastic tips! Can't wait to give some of these a shot.
ReplyDeleteHaha this is great. After years of the worst hangovers I now only drink moderately. But I still remember how bad they were. There was no way I could have exercised the morning after - if I moved a tiny muscle, I felt sick!
ReplyDeleteBy the way, forgot to mention that I like your blog! I'm following!
ReplyDeletesometimes there is no cure!! and that is a sign that when you stop remembering what number drink you're on, you should go. home.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally a hair of the dog girl. Bloody Marys baby. Ah ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI hate being hungover. Somehow I survived partying hard through college, yet right when I hit the working world I started suffering from horrible hangovers. Maybe my body is telling me something...
ReplyDeleteEating before bed usually helps me, plus lots of water and Advil.
Great post and cute blog!
xo,
Lovely B.
Asparagus helps too! Luckily, I LOVE the veggie, so I dont mind eating it. way to go on not drinking until age 21!
