Um, how is it the last week in October? I swear the month just started! Anyway, before I begin, I just wanted to thank you for your comments on this post yesterday (I had another post you might have missed). It's not easy opening yourself up sometimes, but I'm glad I did. I know some of you refuse to read a post that is sponsored, (huge post on this coming soon), so I thank those of you who did.
Now where was I?
Ah yes, OCTOBER ending. My fave month of the year. I will probably mention this a few more times this week.
So this month's ipsy bag was titled "Alter Ego" with one side being patent black and the other a gold lame'. Here's what I got:
MicaBeauty ipsy EXCLUSIVE Cream Eyeshadow in Bronze
- This light-weight, long-wear, creamy eyeshadow by MicaBeauty is truly one of a kind! It’s ultra-pigmented, has super-smooth consistency, and creates a high performance color sweep that will last like new from morning to night!
- This product isn't sold in stores- it's exclusive for ipsters!
- Very pigmented
Peter Lamas Exfoliating Pumpkin Facial Scrub
- The Exfoliating Pumpkin Facial Scrub cleanses and polishes skin using a powerful combination of natural ingredients to reveal an illuminating, flawless complexion. The perfect dose of pumpkin just in time for October!
- I am a huge fan of pumpkin scrubs and such (look at this post to see 5 recipes I created).
theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Hughes Long-Lasting Liquid Lipstick
- theBalm introduces a truly loyal long-lasting liquid lipstick—Meet Matt(e) Hughes. This long-wearing formula has a comfortable matte finish with no commitment issues. This matte vanilla mint liquid lipstick is stuck on you without feeling clingy!
- Long-wearing matte finish/Comfortable, buildable coverage/Vanilla mint flavor
- I love liquid lipsticks (post coming next week) so I don't mind the dry matte.
- The shade was very natural-looking and I'd like to try more.
Beauty Without Cruelty Fragrance Free Hand and Body Lotion
- This lotion moisturizes, softens, and protects your skin. Shea butter, jojoba and kukui nut oil combined with aloe vera soothe and replenish your skin to keep it looking youthful & vibrant.
- Paraben-free/Cruelty-free/100% Vegan-Vegetarian
- Nice, light unscented lotion that sensitive skin would like
Emité Make Up PROFESSIONAL SLANT TWEEZER
- This is a professional angled tweezer in quality steel. It applies the perfect amount of tension and maximum precision.
- I couldn't get this out of the package. I had to use another set of tweezers to get it out! I found them to be cheap looking, but they worked.
- Silicone-based highlighter brings a natural radiance to the complexion with colors designed to highlight and emphasize eyes, cheeks and other features. Goes on sheer, but can be layered for intensity and mixed for a customized luminous finish. Designed for versatility, S/B Highlighter can be applied by fingertips, brush or sponge.
- Long lasting for all-day wear/Oil free, non-comedogenic and hypoallergenic/Sheer, buildable color
- I used this in my airbrush as well as fingers and sponge. It is very pigmented and VERY long lasting. Super glittery but it looks amazing in pics.
Extra Elle:
- I had planned on an additional post today, but I'm exhausted. One of the kids I take care of broke her leg--she's too little for crutches so she has to be carried everywhere. I'm headed to work a few hours earlier and staying later to help. Therefore, responses to your amazing emails and comments will be a bit delayed. I love y'all!
That bronze eyeshadow is so pretty, and that pumpkin scrub sounds amazing. Also very intrigued by the Temptu highlighter, love that it can be used in our airbrush machines or with our fingers <3

Great review! I used to get Ipsy a long time ago and I think I need to restart my subscription. So many great finds! Hope the little girls is ok, and just think- now you don't have to go to the gym!
ReplyDeleteI need to try that pumpkin scrub!
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe it is the last week of October also. It is so cool these Ipsy Bags have a name or theme each week. I like "Alter Ego". I guess the idea is to try something new with the way we do our makeup and the products we use.
ReplyDeletePraying for the kid who broke her leg to feel much better soon. Poor little one.
Wow- your bag was MUCH better than mine this month!! I don't hate sponsored posts because I know how hard bloggers work! Do you, girl!
ReplyDeleteThis highlighter in the champagne shimmer sounds so pretty! Love that it's long lasting too! I hope her leg feels better soon!

A Blonde's Moment
Haha cracking up at having to use tweezers to get out your tweezers. Some packaging is the worst!!
ReplyDeletePoor little kid with the broken leg! I'm sure her the family really appreciates the extra help.
ReplyDeleteYou have me at the pumpkin face scrub! Oh, I would have loved to have received that. The only product we both got that was the same this month was the tweezers.

That shadow is a pretty color! I have never used a pumpkin scrub before but I like the idea of it. And I am interested in checking out that highlighter. I need a good highlighter, I dont really have one right now. Hope the little girl recovers quickly, that does sound exhausting! My little sister faked a broken leg when she was 3 or 4 and had to be carried everywhere until one day she miraculously jumped off the couch to go play with a boy. Haha go figure!
ReplyDeleteThis is so good! Hope you have a fantastic wednesday!

You got really good stuff, Elle, mine was okay this month. It was better than the past 3-4 months and I personally think ipsy is getting worse instead of better. I'm giving it another go for another year and if it continues to be crap, then I'll cancel.

The pumpkin facial scrub sounds great! That's sad about the little one's leg. I hope it heals as quickly as possible and that she feels better!
ReplyDeleteI cancelled my Ipsy subscription. I do like the Balm Matte Lipstick you got. Its so pretty. I would have liked to get that.
ReplyDeleteA pumpkin facial scrub sounds fantastic!

I really like that bronze cream shadow and the pumpkin scrub. They are both so season appropriate! love it!
ReplyDeleteYou got a pretty decent bag this month. I think I might cancel Ipsy...it's not bad, but it just doesn't excite me. Most of the things I end up giving away or toss in a box full of crap I don't use...I don't need to hoard. LOL!
ReplyDeleteThe liquid lipstick was my favorite. The formula is great. I've been testing some liquid lipsticks for a blog post as well so I can't wait to see which ones you tried.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved the Ipsy bag but unfortunately we in India cannot subscribe to it
ReplyDeleteThat pumpkin scrub looks like something I need!
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkin scrub would excite me!
ReplyDeleteI've never tried liquid lipstick, but I love the look of matte finishes and think a liquid would be so much easier to apply! I need to get some. Oh no about the girl you nanny! That's rough. I hope she's not in any pain...and for a speedy recovery (not sure if there's much variability in broken bones, but you know, if there is)!
ReplyDeleteOooh, that highlighter sounds gorgeous! And I can't believe October is almost over- fall is flying by!

You got a great bag!
ReplyDeletexx, A Little Dose of Makeup
I also can't believe October is almost over with! That is craziness and I don't even know where the month went. I like November too but I'm also kind of sad.
ReplyDeleteAnyway- I canceled my ipsy bag but everyone seems excited about the liquid lipstick from the balm. I've always liked the mica products I've gotten from ipsy and tjsy cream shadow seems really pretty!
And prayers for the little one who broke her leg!
people refuse to read a post that is sponsored?! nice. i noticed a few people i regularly see on my blog did not comment the other week on 2 of my posts... one that was sponsored, and the other about helping bloggers. honestly.. if you're only in this for yourself, that's just ridiculous and i don't want you around on my other posts! lol.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe this month is almost over! A pumpkin scrub sounds heavenly. Definitely something I need to try!
ReplyDeletexo,
Angela
I also got the pumpkin scrub and liquid lipstick and love both! That eyeshadow sounds amazing!

Yes this month has gone by so quickly. Looks like an interesting mix of products. Some of these brands are new to me as well.

A pumpkin facial sounds like heaven!
ReplyDeleteAh the pumpkin facial! They really know how to connect with their target audiences :]

I love reading about what comes in your Ipsy bags... it's one of those things I keep telling myself I'm going to sign up for when I have a little extra money in the budget. And I hope the little girl you take care of heals quickly, poor thing!
ReplyDeletePoor baby! I saw your snap! Trampolines are no joke! I feel like more people get hurt on them than anything. I hope she feels better very soon! So I've never really been into Ipsy, I'm usually underwhelmed about people's photos when they post what they got. However, a pumpkin facial! That sounds dreamy, however I'm sure you probably have a pumpkin mask DIY somewhere in that creative mind of yours! (;
ReplyDeleteBWC lotion sounds great, I like that the whole line is cruelty free and it seems to be working really well.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a decent bag this month. I too love a pumpkin scrub ;)
ReplyDeleteYour comment about needing tweezers to get the tweezers out made me laugh!!! ha!! I will say I can never have too many pairs, even if they are are cheap!
