Friday I had the grumps. Who has the grumps on a Friday? First of all I was bloated and didn't feel like going anywhere--I just wanted to veg on the couch. Next, ALL (slight exaggeration) of my clothes felt too tight. You've had those days, right? About every month or so? Anyway, I looked at the clock and realized I had approx. 7 minutes to get ready. I put on the song below, which always makes me wanna dance and/or twirl, made myself some peppermint tea and came up with an outfit.
Sound:
Valerie by Mark Ronson f. Amy Winehouse (Play it! Dancing pretty much guaranteed)
Time: Friday, 7:00pm
Clothes & Accessories
- The weather this past week was GLORIOUS! It's no secret autumn is my favorite season (it has my bday after all!). And while fall doesn't start officially until September 23rd (aka December in Atlanta) I definitely enjoyed the summer reprieve. I started with this coral maxi dress. Mine is actually from Old Navy (similar).
- Since it was cooler, I wore a black tee over the dress, so the dress became a maxi skirt.
- Next, came these black sandals that I practically lived in all summer.
- I threw on these Ray Ban knockoffs for the drive and to keep my hair back while I
devoureddined on my fish tacos and margarita.
Hair & Beauty
- Beachy waves once again! Speaking of, have you seen my How Tos for waves with heat and without?
- And once again, my $1 coral lipgloss from ELF.
- Not pictured: mascara (No eye shadow. Can you believe it?) and jewelry (because I forgot!)
{Pssst! You're invited! Come find my post!}
I hate when everything feels too tight...I actually woke up the other morning...put pants on I was sure wouldn't fit...they did...I jumped with joy to later get bloated at work...sit in agony then the bloated subsided ... it was miserable...so yeah I know how you feel. Hope your feeling better =)

I hate that feeling of things just being overly tight - a maxi is such a good solution to that.

ReplyDeleteHmmmm, this maxi dress to skirt thing might just be a great idea! Think I may try it out!!
ReplyDeleteOh my, every girls worst nightmare I think is that feeling of being bloated. When that happens I just forget wearing things tight and have made some great t-shirts out of silk jersey that are loose so I don't even have to think about it!.
ReplyDeleteI love being able to wear pieces in different ways- this is a great look!

I've been loving maxi dresses more and more but I'm not sure about the t-shirt over it. I have enough issues with pulling off maxis and I'm not sure just a t-shirt would look good.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried it so I'll defintely give it a try.
I've been hearing a few things about Atlanta lately (one of my favorite podcasts is made there). Seems like a neat place.

great use of your wardrobe!

Coming down with a case of the grumps is definitely not the best way to spend a Friday, but I love hearing that you turned things around (and threw together an outfit so quickly, I might add). I think turning a frown upside-down is usually part willpower and part motivating music, and I adore your music choice. ;)
ReplyDeleteI love that coral shade!

I definitely have those times where "NOTHING" fits & what does fit looks terrible. I think your Maxi was a great go to piece. Maxi's are extremely comfy & easy to wear. I love the coral color too!!!
