Monthly Makeup: June (A Day At The Beach)

This month, I wore eye makeup inspired by my favorite summer place: a day at the beach—sand, tan, and sea. I tend to use subtle colors and am crazy about a smokey eye, but this month I wanted some color without it looking “totally 80s” (anyone remember the horrible blue eye shadow?).  For June, I wore this bronze-aqua look two different ways. As always, use what brands you love, and use the option you love. I used Miami Vibes from the Sephora Collection. See how I fashioned both looks below:

• Highlighter: This is a step often skipped but it takes seconds to apply and accentuates eyebrows. I put a thin line under my eyebrows and a dot in the inner corner of each eye. 
• Base: This color reminds me of the sand. Apply all over lids.
• Crease: I applied the bronze color in the crease and blended well.
• Outer Corner: I patted a little aqua-turquoise in the outer corners of my eyes and blended.
• Eyeliner: I used a bronze shade, but in the inspiration pic she used black.
• Mascara: I’m loving Cover Girl Volume Express One-By-One

Option 2:

• Follow the same steps for highlighter, base, mascara and crease.
• Outer: I used a copper shade just on my outer lids and blended.
• Eyeliner: Line just the upper lid in a turquoise liner. Feeling more daring? Like just the bottom in turquoise.
