One summer product I was really excited about buying was the Goody Spin Pin. I was intrigued by the commercial, and at such a cheap price, I figured, why not?
Price: $5-$6
Location: Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, drugstores and online
Method: I purchased the brunette package. There are directions on the back as well as paper on the inside with directions for 3 hairstyles. My hair is very thick and layered and traditional clips don't hold well for me. I wanted an easy way to create a bun, sans 400 bobby pins, and figured this would work.
Twirl your hair into a bun. Take one pin (depending on thickness, your hair may require just 1 pin. Mine needed both) and screw it in/twist it down into the top of your bun. Take the other pin and put at the bottom/base of your bun. Twist it up into your hair. This sounds confusing, but really it's easy.
Did It Work? It took some practice, but it worked for me. However, I had plenty of sprigs that fell out--remember my hair is layered. It seemed to hold pretty well but not sure I'd wear it while working out.
Get or Forget? For me, get it. I give it 8 out of 10 stars. I included another blogger's review with tutorial, so you could see the Spin Pin in action!

ReplyDeleteI bought these a few months back, and I have to admit, I'm now a little addicted to them.
ReplyDeleteMy hair is super thick and lightly layered, but the pins still give a good hold. If I need extra-strength, uber hold (like if I'm going to the gym and am going to be bouncing up and down on the treadmill or whatever), I'll pull my hair in a ponytail first with an elastic and then use the pins to secure a bun.
