How To: Black And Gold Foil Nails

Hey you! It's been a minute since I've shared a nail tutorial with y'all, hasn't it? I wanted something easy and that would work well for Halloween, fall, and winter. You can do this! Let's see how to:

You'll Need:
  • foil kit (I got mine at Rite Aid, but I've seen these at TJ Maxx and online. You can also check your craft store for gold leaf)
  • thick top coat
  • optional: polish color of choice
  • scissors (optional)
  • tweezers (optional)

This kit came with a black "gel" polish, but I have used regular polish, like this one from ELF. Paint a base coat to protect your natural nail, and then paint a coat of your chosen color and allow to dry.

Take the foil (this was similar to gold leaf in texture) and cut or strip it into small pieces. Paint nails with either another coat of your chosen nail color or with a top coat. While wet, apply the gold foil pieces using fingers, scissors, or tweezers. Allow to dry. Seal with a top coat--this will help make sure the gold pieces are flat. I've used this with Seche Vite, Out the Door, and the Sally Hansen Gel Polish

Not only would these nails work for your favorite sports team, but the colors can be changed as well! I've loved this with red, burgundy, dark green, and white.
