Beauty DIY: Rosacea Relief

Happy weekend to us! I am excited to have friends that I rarely get to see come and stay with me this weekend. I hope this weekend brings you lots of fun and good weather. Speaking of weather, winter hasn't been consistent in Atlanta. One minute it's in the 60s and then the next day, the 20s. My friends with rosacea have been experiencing flare ups due to the inconsistent weather. This Beauty DIY, which is travel-friendly, is what I always recommend to give them a little relief. Even if you don't have rosacea, it's very helpful with minor skin irritations or burns.

You'll Need:
4 chamomile tea bags
4 green tea bags
3 cups boiling water

Directions:
Add tea bags to boiling water. I suggest using a pot or heat-safe bowl.
Allow to steep for 10-15 minutes.
Place tea in fridge or freezer until cool. Hot water will only exacerbate the symptoms, so allow it to cool.
Soak cloth in the tea, wring out the excess, and place on red areas for 15 minutes.
Feel free to repeat until relief or when the tea runs out.
You can store the tea for up to a week. Just make sure it is cool, not cold, before using.

Benefits:
The chamomile is calming and can alleviate puffy, tired eyes. It also helps to soothe skin with redness, skin inflammation, and rashes.
The green tea has been proven to help with rosacea and with minor burns/redness, and sun damage.

  7. I had rosacea when I was pregnant the second time. It literally just popped up one day when I was 4 or 5 months along. At the time, my doctor prescribed some ointment, but it's awesome to know that there are other options available should I ever had another outbreak of it.

  10. Good idea. I do agree that camomile is very calming, and should do well to calm the skin too.

  13. This sounds like it would be great. I am not sure if I have rosacea but occasionally I do notice my cheeks get a little red.

  26. Awesome! I had a major flare up over my whole body over the past week. I'm so itchy!!! Nighttime is the worst because I'll itch when I'm sleeping so I have no control. I'll have to try this. This morning, I massaged sweet almond oil all over myself in the shower and I feel a bit better today, but certain spots are still itchy.... hard the reach! lol
